Awake,awake,puton strength,O armof the LORD;Awakeas in the daysof old,the generationsof longago.Was it not You who cutRahabin pieces,Who piercedthe dragon?
The LORDhas baredHis holyarmIn the sightof allthe nations,That allthe endsof the earthmay seeThe salvationof our God.
And He sawthat therewas noman,And was astonishedthat therewas nooneto intercede;Then His own armbroughtsalvationto Him, And His righteousnessupheldHim.
The LORDhas swornby His righthandand by His strongarm,"I will neveragaingiveyour grain[as] foodfor your enemies;Norwill foreignersdrinkyour newwinefor whichyou have labored."
At that timeJesussaid,"I praiseYou, Father,Lordof heavenand earth,that You have hiddenthese thingsfrom [the] wiseand intelligentand have revealedthem to infants.
And Jesussaidto him, "Blessedare you, SimonBarjona,becausefleshand blooddid not reveal[this] to you, but My Fatherwhois in heaven.
ThenHe tookthe twelveasideand saidto them, "Behold,we are goingup to Jerusalem,and all thingswhich are writtenthroughthe prophetsabout the Sonof Manwill be accomplished.
But as manyas receivedHim, to them He gavethe rightto becomechildrenof God,[even] to thosewho believein His name,
He cameas a witness,to testifyaboutthe Light,sothat allmight believethroughhim.
[This was] to fulfillthe wordof Isaiahthe prophetwhichhe spoke:"LORD,WHOHAS BELIEVEDOUR REPORT?AND TO WHOMHAS THE ARMOF THE LORDBEEN REVEALED?"
For the wordof the crossis foolishnessto thosewho are perishing,but to us who are being savedit is the powerof God.
but to thosewho are the called,bothJewsand Greeks,Christthe powerof Godand the wisdomof God.
