Just as a fatherhascompassionon [his] children,So the LORDhascompassionon those who fearHim.
For my fatherand my motherhave forsakenme, But the LORDwill takeme up.
Has Godforgottento be gracious,Orhas He in angerwithdrawnHis compassion?Selah.
What,O my son?And what,O sonof my womb?And what,O sonof my vows?
Whenthe LORDwill havecompassionon Jacoband againchooseIsrael,and settlethem in their own land,then strangerswill jointhem and attachthemselves to the houseof Jacob.
"Rememberthesethings,O Jacob,And Israel,for you are My servant;I have formedyou, you are My servant,O Israel,you will not be forgottenby Me.
But Zionsaid,"The LORDhas forsakenme, And the Lordhas forgottenme."
"For the mountainsmay be removedand the hillsmay shake,But My lovingkindnesswill not be removedfrom you, And My covenantof peacewill not be shaken,"Saysthe LORDwho hascompassionon you.
"Is EphraimMy dearson?Is he a delightfulchild?Indeed,as oftenas I have spokenagainst him, I certainly[still] rememberhim; ThereforeMy heartyearnsfor him; I will surelyhavemercyon him," declaresthe LORD.
For neitherIsraelnorJudahhas been forsakenBy his God,the LORDof hosts,Althoughtheir landis fullof guiltBeforethe HolyOneof Israel.
The handsof compassionatewomenBoiledtheir own children;They becamefoodfor them Because of the destructionof the daughterof my people.
Evenjackalsofferthe breast,They nursetheir young;[But] the daughterof my peoplehas become cruelLike ostrichesin the wilderness.
WhenIsrael[was] a youthI lovedhim, And out of EgyptI calledMy son.
Further, you will eatthe fleshof your sonsand the fleshof your daughtersyou will eat.
"They will be Mine," saysthe LORDof hosts,"on the daythat I prepare[My] own possession,and I will sparethem as a manspareshis own sonwho serveshim."
"Ifyou then,beingevil,know howto givegoodgiftsto your children,how muchmorewill your Fatherwho is in heavengivewhat is goodto thosewho askHim!
without understanding,untrustworthy,unloving,unmerciful;
"For the LORDwill not abandonHis peopleon accountof His greatname,becausethe LORDhas been pleasedto makeyou a peoplefor Himself.
