They saidto him, "ThussaysHezekiah,'Thisdayis a dayof distress,rebuke,and rejection;for childrenhave cometo birthand thereis nostrengthto [deliver].
From menwith Your hand,O LORD,From menof the world,whose portionis in [this] life,And whose bellyYou fillwith Your treasure;They are satisfiedwith children,And leavetheir abundanceto their babes.
"You have conceivedchaff,you will givebirthto stubble;My breathwill consumeyou like a fire.

Noonesuesrighteouslyand noonepleadshonestly.They trustin confusionand speaklies;They conceivemischiefand bringforthiniquity.
The painsof childbirthcomeupon him; He is not a wiseson,For it is not the timethat he should delayat the openingof the womb.
"The worldcannothateyou, but it hatesMe becauseI testifyof it, that its deedsare evil.
We knowthat we are of God,and that the wholeworldliesin [the power of] the evil one.
But Saulsaid,"Not a manshall be putto deaththisday,for todaythe LORDhas accomplisheddeliverancein Israel."
But the peoplesaidto Saul,"Must Jonathandie,whohas broughtaboutthisgreatdeliverancein Israel?Farfrom it! As the LORDlives,not one hairof his headshall fallto the ground,for he has workedwith Godthisday."So the peoplerescuedJonathanand he did not die.
