Thenthe peopleof Israelwere dividedinto twoparts:halfof the peoplefollowedTibnithe sonof Ginath,to makehim king;the [other] halffollowedOmri.
"Nationwas crushedby nation,and cityby city,for Godtroubledthem with everykind of distress.
And the peoplewill be oppressed,Eachoneby another,and eachoneby his neighbor;The youthwill stormagainst the elderAnd the inferioragainst the honorable.
Manasseh[devours] Ephraim,and EphraimManasseh,[And] togetherthey are againstJudah.In [spite of] allthis,His angerdoes not turnawayAnd His handis stillstretchedout.
The nationshave heardof your shame,And the earthis fullof your cry[of distress]; For one warriorhas stumbledover another,And bothof them have fallendowntogether.
"Now sothat your heartdoes not growfaint,And you are not afraidat the reportthat [will be] heardin the land--For the reportwill comeone year,And afterthat another reportin another year,And violence[will be] in the landWith ruleragainstruler--
"I will callfor a swordagainsthim on allMy mountains,"declaresthe LordGOD."Everyman'sswordwill be against his brother.
For beforethosedaysthere was nowagefor manor any wagefor animal;and for him who wentout or camein therewas nopeacebecauseof his enemies,and I setallmenoneagainst another.
"Brotherwill betraybrotherto death,and a father[his] child;and childrenwill riseup againstparentsand cause them to be put to death.
and A MAN'SENEMIESWILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.
And knowingtheir thoughtsJesus saidto them, "Anykingdomdividedagainstitselfis laid waste;and anycityorhousedividedagainstitselfwill not stand.
"For nationwill riseagainstnation,and kingdomagainstkingdom,and in variousplacesthere will be faminesand earthquakes.
"Ifa kingdomis dividedagainstitself,that kingdomcannotstand.
When they blew300trumpets,the LORDsetthe swordof oneagainst anothereven throughoutthe wholearmy;and the armyfledas faras Beth-shittahtoward Zererah,as faras the edgeof Abel-meholah,by Tabbath.
Then Godsentan evilspiritbetweenAbimelechand the menof Shechem;and the menof Shechemdealttreacherouslywith Abimelech,
Now Saul'swatchmenin Gibeahof Benjaminlooked,and behold,the multitudemeltedaway;and they wenthereand [there].
Then Sauland allthe peoplewho[were] with him ralliedand cameto the battle;and behold,everyman'sswordwas against his fellow,[and there was] verygreatconfusion.
