The LORDhas swornand will not changeHis mind,"You are a priestforeverAccordingto the orderof Melchizedek."
"Godis not a man,that He should lie,Nora sonof man,that He should repent;Has He said,and will He not doit? Or has He spoken,and will He not makeit good?
for the giftsand the callingof Godare irrevocable.
justas He saysalsoin another[passage], "YOU ARE A PRIESTFOREVERACCORDINGTO THE ORDEROF MELCHIZEDEK."
For it is attested[of Him], "YOU ARE A PRIESTFOREVERACCORDINGTO THE ORDEROF MELCHIZEDEK."
And inasmuchas [it was] not withoutan oath
The [former] priests,on the one hand,existedin greater numbersbecausethey were preventedby deathfrom continuing,
For the Lawappointsmenas high priestswho are weak,but the wordof the oath,which came afterthe Law,[appoints] a Son,made perfectforever.
