But Abramsaidto Sarai,"Behold,your maidis in your power;doto her whatis goodin your sight."So Saraitreatedher harshly,and she fledfrom her presence.
Abimelechsaid,"Behold,my landis beforeyou; settlewherever you please."
Now their wordsseemedreasonableto Hamorand Shechem,Hamor'sson.
"Nowlet Pharaohlookfor a mandiscerningand wise,and sethim overthe landof Egypt.
Now the proposalseemedgoodto Pharaohand to allhis servants.
He kissedallhis brothersand wepton them, and afterwardhis brotherstalkedwith him.
Then Pharaohsaidto Joseph,"Sayto your brothers,'Dothis:loadyour beastsand goto the landof Canaan,
Now allthe peopletooknote[of it], and it pleasedthem, just as everythingthe kingdidpleasedallthe people.
Thus the thingwas rightin the sightof the kingand allthe assembly.
[This] wordpleasedthe kingand the princes,and the kingdidas Memucanproposed.
"Then let the youngladywhopleasesthe kingbe queenin placeof Vashti."And the matterpleasedthe king,and he didaccordingly.
Then Zereshhis wifeand allhis friendssaidto him, "Have a gallowsfiftycubitshighmadeand in the morningaskthe kingto have Mordecaihangedon it; then gojoyfullywith the kingto the banquet."And the advicepleasedHaman,so he had the gallowsmade.
