Now Josephwas thirtyyearsoldwhen he stoodbeforePharaoh,kingof Egypt.And Josephwentout from the presenceof Pharaohand wentthroughallthe landof Egypt.
Theseare [the records of] the generationsof Jacob.Joseph,when seventeenyearsof age,was pasturingthe flockwith his brotherswhile he was [still] a youth,along with the sonsof Bilhahand the sonsof Zilpah,his father'swives.And Josephbroughtback a badreportabout them to their father.
During the sevenyearsof plentythe landbroughtforthabundantly.
But Josephhad recognizedhis brothers,although they did not recognizehim.
"For the famine[has been] in the landthesetwo years,and there are stillfiveyearsin whichtherewill be neitherplowingnorharvesting.
Davidwas thirtyyearsoldwhen he becameking,[and] he reignedfortyyears.
KingRehoboamconsultedwith the elderswhohadservedhis fatherSolomonwhile he was still alive,saying,"Howdo you counsel[me] to answerthispeople?"
But he forsookthe counselof the elderswhichthey had givenhim, and consultedwith the youngmenwhogrewup with him and servedhim.
Do you seea manskilledin his work?He will standbeforekings;He will not standbeforeobscuremen.
The kingtalkedwith them, and out of them allnot one was foundlike Daniel,Hananiah,Mishaeland Azariah;so they enteredthe king'spersonalservice.
youthsin whomwas nodefect,who were good-looking,showingintelligencein every[branch of] wisdom,endowedwith understandingand discerningknowledge,and whohad abilityfor servingin the king'scourt;and [he ordered him] to teachthem the literatureand languageof the Chaldeans.
from thirtyyearsand upward,even to fiftyyearsold,allwho enterthe serviceto dothe workin the tentof meeting.
"But keep on the alertat alltimes,prayingthat you may have strengthto escapeallthese thingsthat are aboutto take place,and to standbeforethe Sonof Man."
