For Mordecaithe Jewwas second[only] to KingAhasuerus,and greatamong the Jewsand in favorwith his manykinsmen,one who soughtthe goodof his peopleand one who spokefor the welfareof his wholenation.
AftertheseeventsKingAhasueruspromotedHaman,the sonof Hammedathathe Agagite,and advancedhim and establishedhis authorityoverallthe princeswho[were] with him.
And my heartbecamesecretlyenticed,And my handthrewa kissfrom my mouth,
Dohomageto the Son,that He not becomeangry,and you perish[in] the way,For His wrathmay soonbe kindled.How blessedare allwho takerefugein Him!
Do you seea manskilledin his work?He will standbeforekings;He will not standbeforeobscuremen.
ThenBelshazzargaveorders,and they clothedDanielwith purpleand [put] a necklaceof goldaroundhis neck,and issueda proclamationconcerninghim that he [now] hadauthorityas the third[ruler] in the kingdom.
ThenthisDanielbegan distinguishinghimself amongthe commissionersand satrapsbecausehe possessed an extraordinaryspirit,and the kingplannedto appointhim overthe entirekingdom.
and rescuedhim from allhis afflictions,and grantedhim favorand wisdomin the sightof Pharaoh,kingof Egypt,and he madehim governoroverEgyptand allhis household.
Then Samueltookthe flaskof oil,pouredit on his head,kissedhim and said,"Has not the LORDanointedyou a ruleroverHis inheritance?
