Then Cainwentout from the presenceof the LORD,and settledin the landof Nod,eastof Eden.
Now to Enochwas bornIrad,and Iradbecamethe fatherof Mehujael,and Mehujaelbecamethe fatherof Methushael,and Methushaelbecamethe fatherof Lamech.
Jaredlivedone hundredand sixty-twoyears,and becamethe fatherof Enoch.
Then Enochwalkedwith Godthreehundredyearsafterhe becamethe fatherof Methuselah,and he had[other] sonsand daughters.
Now Absalomin his lifetimehad takenand setup for himself a pillarwhichis in the King'sValley,for he said,"I havenosonto preservemy name."So he namedthe pillarafterhis own name,and it is calledAbsalom'sMonumentto thisday.
Their innerthoughtis [that] their housesare forever[And] their dwellingplacesto allgenerations;They have calledtheir landsafter their own names.
But manin [his] pompwill not endure;He is likethe beaststhat perish.
