Abrahambreathedhis lastand diedin a ripeoldage,an oldmanand satisfied[with life]; and he was gatheredto his people.
Then Labanrepliedto Jacob,"The daughtersare my daughters,and the childrenare my children,and the flocksare my flocks,and allthat you seeis mine. But whatcan I dothis dayto thesemy daughtersorto their childrenwhomthey have borne?
Isaacbreathedhis lastand diedand was gatheredto his people,an oldmanof ripeage;and his sonsEsauand Jacobburiedhim.
"But we saidto him, 'We are honestmen;we are not spies.
But Jacob said,"My sonshall not godownwith you; for his brotheris dead,and he aloneis left.If harmshould befallhim on the journeyyou are taking,then you will bringmy grayhairdownto Sheolin sorrow."
Then Israelsaid,"It is enough;my sonJosephis stillalive.I will goand seehim beforeI die."
Israelsaidto Joseph,"I neverexpectedto seeyour face,and behold,Godhas let me seeyour childrenas well."
The eldersof his householdstoodbesidehim in order to raisehim up from the ground,but he was unwillingand would not eatfoodwith them.
"But nowhe has died;whyshould I fast?CanI bringhim backagain?I will goto him, but he will not returnto me."
Then it was toldJoab,"Behold,the kingis weepingand mournsfor Absalom."
Their fatherEphraimmournedmanydays,and his relativescameto comforthim.
Now when Job'sthreefriendsheardof allthisadversitythat had comeupon him, they cameeachonefrom his own place,Eliphazthe Temanite,Bildadthe Shuhiteand Zopharthe Naamathite;and they madean appointmenttogetherto cometo sympathizewith him and comforthim.
In the dayof my troubleI soughtthe Lord;In the nightmy handwas stretchedout withoutweariness;My soulrefusedto be comforted.
[When] I rememberGod,then I am disturbed;[When] I sigh,then my spiritgrowsfaint.Selah.
Whateveryour handfindsto do,do[it] with [all] your might;for thereis noactivityor planningor knowledgeor wisdomin Sheolwhereyou are going.
