They struckthe menwhowere at the doorwayof the housewith blindness,bothsmalland great,so that they wearied[themselves trying] to findthe doorway.
Then the [two] mensaidto Lot,"Whomelsehave you here?A son-in-law,and your sons,and your daughters,and whomeveryou have in the city,bring[them] out of the place;
When they camedownto him, Elishaprayedto the LORDand said,"Strikethispeoplewith blindness,I pray."So He struckthem with blindnessaccording to the wordof Elisha.
The toilof a fool[so] wearieshim that he does not [even] knowhow to goto a city.
"You were tiredout by the lengthof your road,[Yet] you did not say,It is hopeless.'You foundrenewedstrength,Thereforeyou did not faint.
"Whydo you goaround somuchChangingyour way?Also,you will be putto shameby EgyptAs you were putto shameby Assyria.
"Now,behold,the handof the Lordis upon you, and you will be blindand not seethe sunfor a time."And immediatelya mistand a darknessfellupon him, and he went aboutseekingthose who would lead him by the hand.
