He saidto me, "Sonof man,theseare the menwho deviseiniquityand giveeviladvicein thiscity,
Then Estherspokeagainto the king,fellat his feet,weptand imploredhim to avertthe evil[scheme] of Hamanthe Agagiteand his plotwhichhe had devisedagainstthe Jews.
He planswickednessupon his bed;He setshimself on a paththat is not good;He does not despiseevil.
Your lovingkindness,O LORD,extends to the heavens,Your faithfulness[reaches] to the skies.
Your tonguedevisesdestruction,Like a sharprazor,O workerof deceit.
"Woeto the rebelliouschildren,"declaresthe LORD,"Who executea plan,but not Mine,And makean alliance,but not of My Spirit,In orderto addsinto sin;
Noonesuesrighteouslyand noonepleadshonestly.They trustin confusionand speaklies;They conceivemischiefand bringforthiniquity.
Then they said,"Comeand let us deviseplansagainstJeremiah.Surelythe lawis not going to be lostto the priest,norcounselto the sage,northe [divine] wordto the prophet!Comeon and let us strikeat him with [our] tongue,and let us givenoheedto anyof his words."
"I will goto the greatAnd will speakto them, For they knowthe wayof the LORD[And] the ordinanceof their God."But they too, with oneaccord,have brokenthe yoke[And] burstthe bonds.
Disasterwill comeupon disasterand rumorwill be [added] to rumor;then they will seeka visionfrom a prophet,but the lawwill be lostfrom the priestand counselfrom the elders.
From you has goneforthOne who plottedevilagainstthe LORD,A wickedcounselor.
