Mosessaidto Pharaoh,"The honoris yours to tell me: whenshall I entreatfor you and your servantsand your people,that the frogsbe destroyedfrom you and your houses,[that] they may be leftonlyin the Nile?"
So Elijahsaidto the prophetsof Baal,"Chooseoneoxfor yourselves and prepareit firstfor you are many,and callon the nameof your god,but putnofire[under it]."
Sevendayspassedafterthe LORDhad struckthe Nile.
Then he said,"Tomorrow."So he said,"[May it be] according to your word,that you may knowthat thereis noonelike the LORDour God.
"The frogswill departfrom you and your housesand your servantsand your people;they will be leftonlyin the Nile."
Then Pharaohcalledfor Mosesand Aaronand said,"Entreatthe LORDthat He removethe frogsfrom me and from my people;and I will letthe peoplego,that they may sacrificeto the LORD."
Is the axeto boastitself overthe one who chopswith it? Is the sawto exaltitself overthe one who wieldsit? [That would be] like a clubwieldingthose who liftit, [Or] like a rodlifting[him who] is not wood.
So the LORDsaid,"I have pardoned[them] according to your word;
The LORDsaidto Gideon,"The peoplewhoare with you are toomanyfor Me to giveMidianinto their hands,for Israelwould becomeboastful,saying,My own powerhas deliveredme.'
