Moseswas willingto dwellwith the man,and he gavehis daughterZipporahto Moses.
The childgrew,and she broughthim to Pharaoh'sdaughterand he becameher son.And she namedhim Moses,and said,"BecauseI drewhim out of the water."
He saidto his daughters,"Whereis he then? Whyis it that you have leftthe manbehind?Invitehim to have somethingto eat."
Now Moseswas pasturingthe flockof Jethrohis father-in-law,the priestof Midian;and he ledthe flockto the westsideof the wildernessand cameto Horeb,the mountainof God.
Then Mosesdepartedand returnedto Jethrohis father-in-lawand saidto him, "Please,let me go,that I may returnto my brethrenwhoare in Egypt,and seeif they are stillalive."And Jethrosaidto Moses,"Goin peace."
Then Mosessaidto Hobabthe sonof Reuelthe Midianite,Moses'father-in-law,"We are settingout to the placeof whichthe LORDsaid,I will giveit to you'; comewith us and we will doyou good,for the LORDhas promisedgoodconcerningIsrael."
Then Miriamand Aaronspokeagainst Mosesbecauseof the Cushitewomanwhomhe had married(for he had marrieda Cushitewoman);
"At thisremark,MOSESFLEDAND BECAMEAN ALIENIN THE LANDOF MIDIAN,wherehe became the fatherof twosons.
But godliness[actually] is a meansof greatgainwhen accompaniedby contentment.
choosingratherto endure ill-treatmentwith the peopleof Godthanto enjoythe passingpleasuresof sin,
[Make sure that] your characteris free from the love of money,being contentwith what you have;for He Himselfhas said,"I WILL NEVERDESERTYOU, NORWILL I EVERFORSAKEYOU,"
and the rich man[is to glory] in his humiliation,becauselikefloweringgrasshe will pass away.
