When Israelsawthe greatpowerwhichthe LORDhad usedagainst the Egyptians,the peoplefearedthe LORD,and they believedin the LORDand in His servantMoses.
They roseearlyin the morningand wentout to the wildernessof Tekoa;and when they wentout, Jehoshaphatstoodand said,"Listento me, O Judahand inhabitantsof Jerusalem,putyour trustin the LORDyour Godand you will be established.Putyour trustin His prophetsand succeed."
"You sawthe afflictionof our fathersin Egypt,And heardtheir cryby the RedSea.
My fleshtremblesfor fearof You, And I am afraidof Your judgments.Ayin.
The LORDsaidto Moses,"Behold,I will cometo you in a thickcloud,sothat the peoplemay hearwhen I speakwith you and may alsobelievein you forever."Then Mosestoldthe wordsof the peopleto the LORD.
So the peoplebelieved;and when they heardthat the LORDwas concernedabout the sonsof Israeland that He had seentheir affliction,then they bowedlowand worshiped.
"Those on the rocky[soil are] those who,whenthey hear,receivethe wordwith joy;and thesehaveno[firm] root;they believefor a while,and in timeof temptationfall away.
Thereforemanyof the Jewswho cameto Mary,and sawwhatHe had done,believedin Him.
Thisbeginningof [His] signsJesusdidin Canaof Galilee,and manifestedHis glory,and His disciplesbelievedin Him.
EvenSimonhimselfbelieved;and after being baptized,he continuedon with Philip,and as he observedsignsand greatmiraclestaking place,he was constantly amazed.
NowMoseswas faithfulin allHis houseas a servant,for a testimonyof thosethings which were to be spokenlater;
But when they criedout to the LORD,He putdarknessbetweenyou and the Egyptians,and broughtthe seaupon them and coveredthem; and your own eyessawwhatI didin Egypt.And you livedin the wildernessfor a longtime.
On that daythe LORDexaltedJoshuain the sightof allIsrael;so that they reveredhim, justas they had reveredMosesallthe daysof his life.
that allthe peoplesof the earthmay knowthat the handof the LORDis mighty,sothat you may fearthe LORDyour Godforever."
"Evennow,takeyour standand seethisgreatthingwhichthe LORDwill dobefore your eyes.
So Samuelcalledto the LORD,and the LORDsentthunderand rainthat day;and allthe peoplegreatlyfearedthe LORDand Samuel.
