As Pharaohdrewnear,the sonsof Israellooked,and behold,the Egyptianswere marchingafterthem, and they becameveryfrightened;so the sonsof Israelcriedout to the LORD.
So when the captainsof the chariotssawJehoshaphat,they said,"It is the kingof Israel,"and they turnedasideto fightagainsthim. But Jehoshaphatcriedout, and the LORDhelpedhim, and Goddivertedthem from him.
"You sawthe afflictionof our fathersin Egypt,And heardtheir cryby the RedSea.
Nevertheless He lookedupon their distressWhen He heardtheir cry;
Then they criedout to the LORDin their trouble;He savedthem out of their distresses.
Then they criedto the LORDin their trouble,And He broughtthem out of their distresses.
Then they criedout to the LORDin their trouble;He deliveredthem out of their distresses.
[The righteous] cry,and the LORDhearsAnd deliversthem out of alltheir troubles.
Therethey were in greatfear[where] nofearhad been;For Godscatteredthe bonesof him who encampedagainst you; You put[them] to shame,becauseGodhad rejectedthem.
"You calledin troubleand I rescuedyou; I answeredyou in the hidingplaceof thunder;I provedyou at the watersof Meribah.Selah.
Now when Pharaohhad letthe peoplego,Goddid not leadthem by the wayof the landof the Philistines,eventhoughit was near;for Godsaid,"The peoplemightchangetheir mindswhen they seewar,and returnto Egypt."
Then he criedout to the LORD,and the LORDshowedhim a tree;and he threw[it] into the waters,and the watersbecamesweet.ThereHe madefor them a statuteand regulation,and thereHe testedthem.
O LORD,they soughtYou in distress;They could only whispera prayer,Your chasteningwas upon them.
When it was reportedto the houseof David,saying,"The Arameanshave campedin Ephraim,"his heartand the heartsof his peopleshookas the treesof the forestshakewith the wind.
"You who dwellin Lebanon,Nestedin the cedars,Howyou will groanwhen pangscomeupon you, Painlike a woman in childbirth!
"Remember,do not forgethowyou provokedthe LORDyour Godto wrathin the wilderness;from the daythat you leftthe landof Egyptuntilyou arrivedat thisplace,you have beenrebelliousagainstthe LORD.
I broughtyour fathersout of Egypt,and you cameto the sea;and Egyptpursuedyour fatherswith chariotsand horsemento the RedSea.
But when they criedout to the LORD,He putdarknessbetweenyou and the Egyptians,and broughtthe seaupon them and coveredthem; and your own eyessawwhatI didin Egypt.And you livedin the wildernessfor a longtime.
There is nofearin love;but perfectlovecastsout fear,becausefearinvolvespunishment,and the one who fearsis not perfectedin love.
