On the firstdayyou shall have a holyassembly,and [another] holyassemblyon the seventhday;noworkat allshall be doneon them, exceptwhatmust be eatenby everyperson,that alonemay be preparedby you.
then he saidto them, "Thisis whatthe LORDmeant:Tomorrowis a sabbathobservance,a holysabbathto the LORD.Bakewhatyou will bakeand boilwhatyou will boil,and allthat is leftoverputasideto be keptuntilmorning."
"See,the LORDhas givenyou the sabbath;thereforeHe givesyou breadfor two dayson the sixthday.Remaineverymanin his place;let nomangoout of his placeon the seventhday."
"On the sixthday,when they preparewhatthey bringin, it will be twiceas muchas they gatherdaily."
but the seventhdayis a sabbathof the LORDyour God;[in it] you shall not doanywork,you or your sonor your daughter,your maleor your femaleservantor your cattleor your sojournerwhostays with you.
"You shall observethe Feastof UnleavenedBread.For sevendaysyou are to eatunleavenedbread,as I commandedyou, at the appointedtimein the monthof Abib,for in the monthof Abibyou cameout of Egypt.
"Bringyour worthlessofferingsnolonger,Incenseis an abominationto Me. Newmoonand sabbath,the callingof assemblies--I cannotendureiniquityand the solemnassembly.
On thissamedayyou shall makea proclamationas well; you are to havea holyconvocation.You shall donolaboriouswork.It is to be a perpetualstatutein allyour dwellingplacesthroughout your generations.
"On exactlythe tenthday of thisseventhmonthis the dayof atonement;it shall be a holyconvocationfor you, and you shall humbleyour soulsand presentan offeringby fireto the LORD.
On the firstdayis a holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriousworkof anykind.
On the firstday[shall be] a holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork.
On the seventhdayyou shall havea holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork.
Also on the dayof the firstfruits,when you presenta newgrain offeringto the LORDin your [Feast of] Weeks,you shall havea holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork.
Now in the seventhmonth,on the firstday of the month,you shall also havea holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork.It will be to you a dayfor blowingtrumpets.
Then on the fifteenthdayof the seventhmonthyou shall havea holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork,and you shall observea feastto the LORDfor sevendays.
Thenthe Jews,becauseit was the day of preparation,sothat the bodieswould not remainon the crosson the Sabbath(for that Sabbathwas a highday),askedPilatethat their legsmight be broken,and [that] they might be taken away.
"Sixdaysyou shall eatunleavenedbread,and on the seventhdaythere shall be a solemnassemblyto the LORDyour God;you shall donowork[on it].
