AftertheseeventsKingAhasueruspromotedHaman,the sonof Hammedathathe Agagite,and advancedhim and establishedhis authorityoverallthe princeswho[were] with him.
The kingsaidto Haman,"The silveris yours,and the people[also], to dowith them as you please."
"Ifit is pleasingto the king,let it be decreedthat they be destroyed,and I will paytenthousandtalentsof silverinto the handsof those who carryon the [king's] business,to putinto the king's treasuries."

"Now you writeto the Jewsas you seefit,in the king'sname,and seal[it] with the king'ssignetring;for a decreewhichis writtenin the nameof the kingand sealedwith the king'ssignetringmay not be revoked."
