For this reasonit says,"Awake,sleeper,And arisefrom the dead,And Christwill shineon you."
Your deadwill live;Their corpseswill rise.You who liein the dust,awakeand shoutfor joy,For your dew[is as] the dewof the dawn,And the earthwill givebirthto the departedspirits.
Rouseyourself!Rouseyourself!Arise,O Jerusalem,You whohave drunkfrom the LORD'Shandthe cupof His anger;The chaliceof reelingyou have drainedto the dregs.
Awake,awake,Clotheyourselfin your strength,O Zion;Clotheyourselfin your beautifulgarments,O Jerusalem,the holycity;For the uncircumcisedand the uncleanWill nolongercomeinto you.
"Arise,shine;for your lighthas come,And the gloryof the LORDhas risenupon you.
Becauseof the tendermercyof our God,With whichthe Sunrisefrom on highwill visitus,
for thissonof minewas deadand has come to life again;he was lostand has been found.'And they beganto celebrate.
ThenJesusagainspoketo them, saying,"I amthe Lightof the world;he who followsMe will not walkin the darkness,but will havethe Lightof life."
"WhileI amin the world,I amthe Lightof the world."
"For sothe Lordhas commandedus, 'I HAVE PLACEDYOU AS A LIGHTFOR THE GENTILES,THAT YOU MAY BRINGSALVATIONTO THE ENDOF THE EARTH.'"
and do not go on presentingthe membersof your body to sin[as] instrumentsof unrighteousness;but presentyourselvesto Godas those alivefrom the dead,and your members[as] instrumentsof righteousnessto God.
Become sober-mindedas you ought,and stopsinning;for somehaveno knowledgeof God.I speak[this] to your shame.
For God,who said,"Lightshall shineout of darkness,"is the One whohas shonein our heartsto give the Lightof the knowledgeof the gloryof Godin the faceof Christ.
And you were deadin your trespassesand sins,
evenwhen we were deadin our transgressions,made us alive togetherwith Christ(by graceyou have beensaved),
Thereforeifyou have been raisedup with Christ,keep seekingthe things above,whereChristis, seatedat the right handof God.
so thenlet us not sleepas othersdo, but let us be alertand sober.
but nowhas been revealedby the appearingof our SaviorChristJesus,who abolisheddeathand broughtlifeand immortalityto lightthroughthe gospel,
and they may come to their senses[and escape] from the snareof the devil,having been held captiveby him to do his will.
