The wiseman'seyesare in his head,but the foolwalksin darkness.And yetI knowthat onefatebefallsthem both.
For thereis nolastingremembranceof the wiseman[as] with the fool,inasmuchas [in] the comingdaysallwill be forgotten.And howthe wisemanand the foolalikedie!
For the fateof the sonsof menand the fateof beastsis the same.As onediessodiesthe other;indeed, they allhave the samebreathand thereis noadvantagefor manoverbeast,for allis vanity.
Allgoto the sameplace.Allcamefrom the dustand allreturnto the dust.
"Even ifthe [other] man livesa thousandyearstwiceand does not enjoygoodthings--do not allgoto oneplace?"
It is the samefor all.There is onefatefor the righteousand for the wicked;for the good,for the cleanand for the unclean;for the man who offersa sacrificeand for the one whodoes not sacrifice.As the goodmanis, so is the sinner;as the sweareris, so is the one who is afraidto swear.
Thisis an evilin allthat is doneunderthe sun,that there is onefatefor allmen.Furthermore,the heartsof the sonsof menare fullof eviland insanityis in their heartsthroughout their lives.Afterwardsthey [go] to the dead.
For the livingknowthey will die;but the deaddo not knowanything,norhavethey anylongera reward,for their memoryis forgotten.
"Yet you said,I will be a queenforever.'Thesethingsyou did not considerNorrememberthe outcomeof them.
"Moreover you shall not gointo a houseof feastingto sitwith them to eatand drink."
Nowtherefore, thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"Consideryour ways!
"Ifyou do not listen,and ifyou do not takeit to heartto givehonorto My name,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"then I will sendthe curseupon you and I will curseyour blessings;and indeed,I have cursedthem [already], becauseyou are not taking[it] to heart.
"Whocan countthe dustof Jacob,Or numberthe fourthpartof Israel?Let me diethe deathof the upright,And let my endbe likehis!"
"Blessedare thosewho mourn,for they shall be comforted.
"Wouldthat they were wise,that they understoodthis,That they would discerntheir future!
he saidto them, "Taketo your heartallthe wordswith whichI am warningyou today,whichyou shall commandyour sonsto observecarefully,[even] allthe wordsof thislaw.
whoseendis destruction,whosegodis [their] appetite,and [whose] gloryis in their shame,who set their mindson earthly things.
