"The LORDspoketo you faceto faceat the mountainfrom the midstof the fire,
The LORDsaidto Moses,"Behold,I will cometo you in a thickcloud,sothat the peoplemay hearwhen I speakwith you and may alsobelievein you forever."Then Mosestoldthe wordsof the peopleto the LORD.
Then Godspokeallthesewords,saying,
Thus the LORDused to speakto Mosesfaceto face,justas a manspeaksto his friend.When Moses returnedto the camp,his servantJoshua,the sonof Nun,a youngman,would not departfrom the tent.
With him I speakmouthto mouth,Even openly,and not in darksayings,And he beholdsthe formof the LORD.Whythen were you not afraidTo speakagainst My servant,against Moses?"
and they will tell[it] to the inhabitantsof thisland.They have heardthat You, O LORD,are in the midstof thispeople,for You, O LORD,are seeneyeto eye,while Your cloudstandsoverthem; and You gobeforethem in a pillarof cloudby dayand in a pillarof fireby night.
Sincethat timenoprophethas risenin Israellike Moses,whomthe LORDknewfaceto face,
"Then the LORDspoketo you from the midstof the fire;you heardthe soundof words,but you sawnoform--onlya voice.
"So watchyourselvescarefully,sinceyou did not seeanyformon the daythe LORDspoketo you at Horebfrom the midstof the fire,
"Has [any] peopleheardthe voiceof Godspeakingfrom the midstof the fire,as you have heard[it], and survived?
"Out of the heavensHe let you hearHis voiceto disciplineyou; and on earthHe let you seeHis greatfire,and you heardHis wordsfrom the midstof the fire.
"Thesewordsthe LORDspoketo allyour assemblyat the mountainfrom the midstof the fire,[of] the cloudand [of] the thickgloom,with a greatvoice,and He addednomore.He wrotethem on twotabletsof stoneand gavethem to me.
