Let Your handbe ready to helpme, For I have chosenYour precepts.
I have chosenthe faithfulway;I have placedYour ordinances[before me].
Becausethey hatedknowledgeAnd did not choosethe fearof the LORD.
In the wayof righteousnessis life,And in [its] pathwaythere is nodeath.
"But he who sinsagainst me injureshimself;Allthose who hateme lovedeath."
For by me your dayswill be multiplied,And yearsof lifewill be addedto you.
Listen,O heavens,and hear,O earth;For the LORDspeaks,"SonsI have rearedand broughtup, But they have revoltedagainst Me.
For thussaysthe LORD,"To the eunuchswhokeepMy sabbaths,And choosewhatpleasesMe, And holdfastMy covenant,
"You shall also sayto thispeople,'Thussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I setbeforeyou the wayof lifeand the wayof death.
and I will givethem oneheartand oneway,that they may fearMe always,for their own goodand for [the good of] their childrenafterthem.
So I have toldyou today,but you have not obeyedthe LORDyour God,even in whateverHe has sentme to [tell] you.
"I gavethem My statutesand informedthem of My ordinances,by which,if a manobservesthem, he will live.
but [only] onethingis necessary,for Maryhas chosenthe goodpart,whichshall not be taken awayfrom her."
"For the promiseis for you and your childrenand for allwhoare far off,as manyas the Lordour Godwill callto Himself."
"See,I am settingbeforeyou todaya blessingand a curse:
"So it shall be whenallof thesethingshave comeupon you, the blessingand the cursewhichI have setbeforeyou, and you call[them] to mindin allnationswherethe LORDyour Godhas banishedyou,
"See,I have setbeforeyou todaylifeand prosperity,and deathand adversity;
in that I commandyou todayto lovethe LORDyour God,to walkin His waysand to keepHis commandmentsand His statutesand His judgments,that you may liveand multiply,and that the LORDyour Godmay blessyou in the landwhereyou are enteringto possessit.
"Then My angerwill be kindledagainst them in that day,and I will forsakethem and hideMy facefrom them, and they will be consumed,and manyevilsand troubleswill comeupon them; so that they will sayin that day,Is it not becauseour Godis not amongus that theseevilshave comeupon us?'
"Assembleto me allthe eldersof your tribesand your officers,that I may speakthesewordsin their hearingand callthe heavensand the earthto witnessagainst them.
"Giveear,O heavens,and let me speak;And let the earthhearthe wordsof my mouth.
"Now,O Israel,listento the statutesand the judgmentswhichI am teachingyou to perform,sothat you may liveand goin and takepossessionof the landwhichthe LORD,the Godof your fathers,is givingyou.
"Whenyou becomethe fatherof childrenand children'schildrenand have remainedlongin the land,and actcorruptly,and makean idolin the formof anything,and dothat whichis evilin the sightof the LORDyour God[so as] to provokeHim to anger,
I callheavenand earthto witnessagainst you today,that you will surelyperishquicklyfrom the landwhereyou are goingoverthe Jordanto possessit. You shall not livelongon it, but will be utterlydestroyed.
"So keepand do[them], for that is your wisdomand your understandingin the sightof the peopleswhowill hearallthesestatutesand say,'Surelythisgreatnationis a wiseand understandingpeople.'
sothat you and your sonand your grandsonmight fearthe LORDyour God,to keepallHis statutesand His commandmentswhichI commandyou, allthe daysof your life,and that your daysmay be prolonged.
I solemnly chargeyou in the presenceof Godand of ChristJesusand of [His] chosenangels,to maintainthese[principles] withoutbias,doingnothingin a [spirit of] partiality.
