"So it shall be on the daywhenyou crossthe Jordanto the landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, that you shall setup for yourself largestonesand coatthem with lime
"That with an ironstylusand leadThey were engravedin the rockforever!
"And I will givethem oneheart,and puta newspiritwithinthem. And I will takethe heartof stoneout of their fleshand givethem a heartof flesh,
"Moreover, I will giveyou a newheartand puta newspiritwithinyou; and I will removethe heartof stonefrom your fleshand giveyou a heartof flesh.
"For you are about to crossthe Jordanto goin to possessthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou, and you shall possessit and livein it,
"Then it shall be, whenyou enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou as an inheritance,and you possessit and livein it,
Then Mosesand the eldersof Israelchargedthe people,saying,"Keepallthe commandmentswhichI commandyou today.
and writeon them allthe wordsof thislaw,when you crossover,sothat you may enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, a landflowingwith milkand honey,as the LORD,the Godof your fathers,promisedyou.
"So it shall be when you crossthe Jordan,you shall setup on MountEbal,thesestones,as I am commandingyou today,and you shall coatthem with lime.
"Now thisis the commandment,the statutesand the judgmentswhichthe LORDyour Godhas commanded[me] to teachyou, that you might do[them] in the landwhereyou are goingoverto possessit,
"Hear,O Israel!You are crossingoverthe Jordantodayto goin to dispossessnationsgreaterand mightierthanyou, greatcitiesfortifiedto heaven,
"Passthrough the midstof the campand commandthe people,saying,'Prepareprovisionsfor yourselves, for withinthreedaysyou are to crossthisJordan,to goin to possessthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou, to possessit.'"
Now whenallthe nationhad finishedcrossingthe Jordan,the LORDspoketo Joshua,saying,
ThenJoshuabuiltan altarto the LORD,the Godof Israel,in MountEbal,
justas Mosesthe servantof the LORDhad commandedthe sonsof Israel,as it is writtenin the bookof the lawof Moses,an altarof uncutstoneson whichnoman had wieldedan iron[tool]; and they offeredburntofferingson it to the LORD,and sacrificedpeaceofferings.
He wrotethereon the stonesa copyof the lawof Moses,whichhe had written,in the presenceof the sonsof Israel.
