"But you made the Naziritesdrinkwine,And you commandedthe prophetssaying,You shall not prophesy!'
Whosayto the seers,"You must not see[visions"]; And to the prophets,"You must not prophesyto us whatis right,Speakto us pleasantwords,Prophesyillusions.
Thereforethussaysthe LORDconcerningthe menof Anathoth,who seekyour life,saying,"Do not prophesyin the nameof the LORD,sothat you will not dieat our hand";
Then I setbeforethe menof the houseof the Rechabitespitchersfullof wineand cups;and I saidto them, "Drinkwine!"
"But nolongerprophesyat Bethel,for it is a sanctuaryof the kingand a royalresidence."
"Nowhearthe wordof the LORD:you are saying,You shall not prophesyagainstIsraelnorshall you speakagainstthe houseof Isaac.'
Do not speakout,' [so] they speakout. [But if] they do not speakout concerning thesethings,Reproacheswill not be turnedback.
"Speakto the sonsof Israeland sayto them, 'Whena manorwomanmakesa specialvow,the vowof a Nazirite,to dedicatehimself to the LORD,
he shall abstainfrom wineand strongdrink;he shall drinknovinegar,whether made from wineor strongdrink,norshall he drinkanygrapejuicenoreatfreshor driedgrapes.
