ThenPhilipopenedhis mouth,and beginningfrom thisScripturehe preachedJesusto him.
He openedHis mouthand [began] to teachthem, saying,
Thenbeginningwith Mosesand with allthe prophets,He explainedto them the things concerningHimselfin allthe Scriptures.
Openinghis mouth,Petersaid:"I mostcertainlyunderstand[now] that Godis not one to show partiality,
But there were someof them, menof Cyprusand Cyrene,whocameto Antiochand [began] speakingto the Greeksalso,preachingthe LordJesus.
And alsosomeof the Epicureanand Stoicphilosopherswere conversingwith him. Somewere saying,"Whatwould thisidle babblerwishto say?"Others,"He seemsto be a proclaimerof strangedeities,"--becausehe was preachingJesusand the resurrection.
for he powerfullyrefutedthe Jewsin public,demonstratingby the Scripturesthat Jesuswas the Christ.
But alsosomeof the Jewishexorcists,who went from place to place,attemptedto nameoverthosewho hadthe evilspiritsthe nameof the LordJesus,saying,"I adjureyou by JesuswhomPaulpreaches."
When they had seta dayfor Paul, they cameto him at his lodgingin large numbers;and he was explainingto them by solemnly testifyingabout the kingdomof Godand trying to persuadethem concerningJesus,from boththe Lawof Mosesand from the Prophets,from morninguntilevening.
and that He may sendJesus,the Christappointedfor you,
And everyday,in the templeand from house to house,they keptrighton teachingand preachingJesus[as] the Christ.
The eunuchansweredPhilipand said,"Please[tell me], of whomdoes the prophetsaythis?Of himselforof someoneelse?"
and immediatelyhe [began] to proclaimJesusin the synagogues,saying,"He is the Sonof God."
but we preachChristcrucified,to Jewsa stumbling blockand to Gentilesfoolishness,
For I determinedto knownothingamongyou exceptJesusChrist,and Him crucified.
Our mouthhas spoken freelyto you, O Corinthians,our heartis opened wide.
ifindeedyou have heardHim and have been taughtin Him, justas truthis in Jesus,
