When they had drivenhim out of the city,they [began] stoning[him]; and the witnesseslaid asidetheir robesat the feetof a young mannamedSaul.
Then the twoworthlessmencamein and satbeforehim; and the worthlessmentestifiedagainst him, even against Naboth,beforethe people,saying,"NabothcursedGodand the king."So they tookhim outsidethe cityand stonedhim to deathwith stones.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"The manshall surelybe putto death;allthe congregationshall stonehim with stonesoutsidethe camp."
and they gotup and droveHim out of the city,and ledHim to the browof the hillon whichtheir cityhad been built,in orderto throw Him down the cliff.
And whenthe bloodof Your witnessStephenwas being shed,I alsowas standingby approving,and watchingout for the coatsof thosewho were slayinghim.'
And as they were cryingout and throwing offtheir cloaksand tossingdustinto the air,
"I persecutedthisWayto the death,bindingand puttingbothmenand womeninto prisons,
"And thisis justwhatI didin Jerusalem;not onlydid I lockup manyof the saintsin prisons,having receivedauthorityfrom the chief priests,but alsowhen they were being put to deathI castmy voteagainstthem.
Thenthey secretly inducedmento say,"We have heardhim speakblasphemouswordsagainstMosesand [against] God."
They put forwardfalse witnesseswho said,"Thismanincessantlyspeaksagainstthisholyplaceand the Law;
But they criedout with a loudvoice,and coveredtheir earsand rushedat him with one impulse.
Saulwas in hearty agreementwith putting him to death.And on that daya greatpersecutionbeganagainstthe churchin Jerusalem,and they were allscatteredthroughoutthe regionsof Judeaand Samaria,exceptthe apostles.
"The handof the witnessesshall be firstagainst him to puthim to death,and afterwardthe handof allthe people.So you shall purgethe evilfrom your midst.
