"And he supposedthat his brethrenunderstoodthat Godwas grantingthem deliverancethroughhim, but they did not understand.
Now Naaman,captainof the armyof the kingof Aram,was a greatmanwith his master,and highly respected,becauseby him the LORDhad givenvictoryto Aram.The manwas also a valiantwarrior,[but he was] a leper.
Our fathersin Egyptdid not understandYour wonders;They did not rememberYour abundantkindnesses,But rebelledby the sea,at the RedSea.
So he lookedthiswayand that, and when he sawtherewas noone[around], he struckdownthe Egyptianand hidhim in the sand.
But they did not understand[this] statement,and they were afraidto askHim.
But the disciples understoodnoneof these things, and [the meaning of] thisstatementwas hiddenfrom them, and they did not comprehendthe things that were said.
But they did not understandthisstatement,and it was concealedfrom them sothat they would not perceiveit; and they were afraidto askHim aboutthisstatement.
When they had arrivedand gatheredthe churchtogether,they [began] to reportall thingsthat Godhad donewith them and howHe had openeda doorof faithto the Gentiles.
When they arrivedat Jerusalem,they were receivedby the churchand the apostlesand the elders,and they reportedallthat Godhad donewith them.
After there had beenmuchdebate,Peterstoodup and saidto them, "Brethren,you knowthat in the earlydaysGodmade a choiceamongyou, that by my mouththe Gentileswould hearthe wordof the gospeland believe.
After he had greetedthem, he [began] to relateone by onethe things whichGodhad doneamongthe Gentilesthroughhis ministry.
"And when he sawone[of them] being treated unjustly,he defendedhim and tookvengeancefor the oppressedby striking downthe Egyptian.
"On the followingdayhe appearedto them as they were fighting together,and he tried to reconcilethem in peace,saying,'Men,you are brethren,whydo you injureone another?'
For I will not presumeto speakof anythingexceptwhatChristhas accomplishedthroughme, resultingin the obedienceof the Gentilesby wordand deed,
But by the graceof GodI amwhatI am,and His gracetowardme did not provevain;but I laboredeven morethan allof them, yetnot I, but the graceof Godwith me.
For we are God'sfellow workers;you are God'sfield,God'sbuilding.
And working together[with Him], we alsourgeyou not to receivethe graceof Godin vain--
For thispurpose alsoI labor,strivingaccordingto His power, which mightilyworkswithinme.
They saidto him, "We have comedownto bindyou so that we may giveyou into the handsof the Philistines."And Samsonsaidto them, "Swearto me that you will not killme."
But the peoplesaidto Saul,"Must Jonathandie,whohas broughtaboutthisgreatdeliverancein Israel?Farfrom it! As the LORDlives,not one hairof his headshall fallto the ground,for he has workedwith Godthisday."So the peoplerescuedJonathanand he did not die.
"For he tookhis lifein his handand struckthe Philistine,and the LORDbroughtabouta greatdeliverancefor allIsrael;you saw[it] and rejoiced.Whythen will you sinagainst innocentbloodby puttingDavidto deathwithouta cause?"
