Nowas they observedthe confidenceof Peterand Johnand understoodthat they were uneducatedand untrainedmen,they were amazed,and [began] to recognizethem as having beenwith Jesus.
At that timeJesussaid,"I praiseYou, Father,Lordof heavenand earth,that You have hiddenthese thingsfrom [the] wiseand intelligentand have revealedthem to infants.
When he had goneout to the gateway,another[servant-girl] sawhim and saidto thosewhowere there,"This manwas with Jesusof Nazareth."
A littlelaterthe bystanderscameup and saidto Peter,"Surelyyou tooare [one] of them; for eventhe way you talkgivesyou away."
And Jesus sentPeterand John,saying,"Goand preparethe Passoverfor us, sothat we may eatit."
When JesusthensawHis mother,and the disciplewhomHe lovedstanding nearby,He saidto His mother,"Woman,behold,your son!"
The Jewsthenwere astonished,saying,"Howhas this manbecome learned,having neverbeen educated?"
"But thiscrowdwhich does not knowthe Lawis accursed."
And seeingthe manwho had been healedstandingwith them, they hadnothingto say in reply.
But Peterand Johnansweredand saidto them, "Whetherit is rightin the sightof Godto give heedto you ratherthanto God,you be the judge;
"And now,Lord,take noteof their threats,and grantthat Your bond-servantsmay speakYour wordwith allconfidence,
And when they had prayed,the placewherethey had gathered togetherwas shaken,and they were allfilledwith the HolySpiritand [began] to speakthe wordof Godwith boldness.
But Barnabastook holdof him and broughthim to the apostlesand describedto them howhe had seenthe Lordon the road,and that He had talkedto him, and howat Damascushe had spoken out boldlyin the nameof Jesus.
And he was with them, movingaboutfreelyin Jerusalem,speaking out boldlyin the nameof the Lord.
but Godhas chosenthe foolish thingsof the worldto shamethe wise,and Godhas chosenthe weak thingsof the worldto shamethe things which are strong,
the secretsof his heartare disclosed;and sohe will fallon his faceand worshipGod,declaringthat Godis certainlyamongyou.
Thereforehavingsucha hope,we usegreatboldness in [our] speech,
