In Iconiumthey enteredthe synagogueof the Jewstogether,and spokein such a mannerthat a largenumber of peoplebelieved,bothof Jewsand of Greeks.
And he was reasoningin the synagogueeverySabbathand trying to persuadeJewsand Greeks.
But they shook offthe dustof their feet[in protest] againstthem and wentto Iconium.
Pauland Barnabasspoke out boldlyand said,"It was necessarythat the wordof Godbe spokento you first;sinceyou repudiateit and judgeyourselvesunworthyof eternallife,behold,we are turningto the Gentiles.
After they had preached the gospelto that cityand had mademanydisciples,they returnedto Lystraand to Iconiumand to Antioch,
Thereis neitherJewnorGreek,thereis neitherslavenorfree man,thereis neithermalenorfemale;for you are allonein ChristJesus.
For there is nodistinctionbetween Jewand Greek;for the same[Lord] is Lordof all,abounding in richesfor allwho callon Him;
For I am not ashamedof the gospel,for it is the powerof Godfor salvationto everyonewho believes,to the Jewfirstand alsoto the Greek.
Thisbecameknownto all,bothJewsand Greeks,who livedin Ephesus;and fearfellupon them alland the nameof the LordJesuswas being magnified.
And he enteredthe synagogueand continued speaking out boldlyfor threemonths,reasoningand persuading[them] aboutthe kingdomof God.
Crispus,the leader of the synagogue,believedin the Lordwith allhis household,and manyof the Corinthianswhen they heardwere believingand being baptized.
Thereforemanyof them believed,alongwith a numberof prominentGreekwomenand men.
And someof them were persuadedand joinedPauland Silas,alongwith a largenumberof the God-fearingGreeksand a numberof the leadingwomen.
Nowwhen [the meeting of] the synagoguehad brokenup, manyof the Jewsand of the God-fearingproselytesfollowedPauland Barnabas,who,speakingto them, were urgingthem to continuein the graceof God.
And the handof the Lordwas with them, and a largenumberwho believedturnedto the Lord.
and immediatelyhe [began] to proclaimJesusin the synagogues,saying,"He is the Sonof God."
cryingout, "Menof Israel,come to our aid!Thisis the manwho preachesto all meneverywhereagainstour peopleand the Lawand thisplace;and besideshe has evenbroughtGreeksinto the templeand has defiledthisholyplace."
solemnly testifyingto bothJewsand Greeksof repentancetowardGodand faithin our LordJesusChrist.
Sohe was reasoningin the synagoguewith the Jewsand the God-fearing[Gentiles], and in the market placeeverydaywith thosewho happened to be present.
Paul camealsoto Derbeand to Lystra.And a disciplewas there,namedTimothy,the sonof a Jewishwomanwho was a believer,but his fatherwas a Greek,
But the Jewswho disbelievedstirredup the mindsof the Gentilesand embitteredthem againstthe brethren.
When they reachedSalamis,they [began] to proclaimthe wordof Godin the synagoguesof the Jews;and they alsohadJohnas their helper.
Nowtherewere someGreeksamongthosewho were goingup to worshipat the feast;
The Jewsthensaidto one another,"Wheredoes this manintendto gothat we will not findHim? He is not intendingto goto the Dispersionamong the Greeks,and teachthe Greeks,is He?
[a renewal] in whichthereis no[distinction between] Greekand Jew,circumcisedand uncircumcised,barbarian,Scythian,slaveand freeman,but Christis all,and in all.
But not evenTitus,whowas with me, though he was a Greek,was compelledto be circumcised.
Thistook placefor twoyears,sothat allwho livedin Asiaheardthe wordof the Lord,bothJewsand Greeks.
Nowthe womanwas a Gentile,of the Syrophoenicianrace.And she kept askingHim to castthe demonout of her daughter.
praisingGodand havingfavorwith allthe people.And the Lordwas addingto their numberday by daythosewho were being saved.
But Jewscamefrom Antiochand Iconium,and having won overthe crowds,they stonedPauland draggedhim out of the city,supposinghim to be dead.
and he was well spokenof by the brethrenwho were in Lystraand Iconium.
persecutions,[and] sufferings,suchas happenedto me at Antioch,at Iconium[and] at Lystra;whatpersecutionsI endured,and out of them allthe Lordrescuedme!
