When he had seizedhim, he puthim in prison,deliveringhim to foursquadsof soldiersto guardhim, intendingafterthe Passoverto bringhim out before the people.
Letterswere sentby couriersto allthe king'sprovincesto destroy,to killand to annihilateallthe Jews,bothyoungand old,womenand children,in oneday,the thirteenth[day] of the twelfthmonth,whichis the monthAdar,and to seizetheir possessionsas plunder.
Now the LORDsaidto Mosesand Aaronin the landof Egypt,
Manyplansare in a man'sheart,But the counselof the LORDwill stand.
Do not boastabout tomorrow,For you do not knowwhata daymay bringforth.
Whois therewho speaksand it comesto pass,Unlessthe Lordhas commanded[it]?
"Thenthey will deliveryou to tribulation,and will killyou, and you will be hatedby allnationsbecauseof My name.
But they were saying,"Not duringthe festival,otherwisea riotmight occuramongthe people."
Nowthe Passoverand UnleavenedBread were twodaysaway;and the chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowto seizeHim by stealthand kill[Him];
"But beforeallthese things,they will laytheir handson you and will persecuteyou, deliveringyou to the synagoguesand prisons,bringingyou beforekingsand governorsfor My name'ssake.
But he saidto Him, "Lord,with You I amreadyto gobothto prisonand to death!"
Thenthe soldiers,whenthey had crucifiedJesus,tookHis outer garmentsand madefourparts,a partto everysoldierand [also] the tunic;nowthe tunicwas seamless,wovenin one piece.
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, whenyou were younger,you used to girdyourselfand walkwhereveryou wished;but whenyou grow old,you will stretchout your handsand someone elsewill girdyou, and bringyou whereyou do not wishto [go]."
When he sawthat it pleasedthe Jews,he proceededto arrestPeteralso.Nowit was during the daysof UnleavenedBread.
SoPeterwas keptin the prison,but prayerfor him was being madeferventlyby the churchto God.

And they laidhandson them and putthem in jailuntilthe next day,for it was alreadyevening.

But Saul[began] ravagingthe church,enteringhouseafterhouse,and draggingoff menand women,he would putthem in prison.
