When they had passedthe firstand secondguard,they cameto the irongatethat leadsinto the city,whichopenedfor them by itself;and they wentout and went alongonestreet,and immediatelythe angeldepartedfrom him.
So he putthem in confinementin the houseof the captainof the bodyguard,in the jail,the [same] placewhereJosephwas imprisoned.
So he putthem alltogetherin prisonfor threedays.
Then the lookoutcalled,"O Lord,I standcontinuallyby dayon the watchtower,And I am stationedeverynightat my guardpost.
and they puthim in custodybecauseit had not been declaredwhatshould be doneto him.
Sowhen it was eveningon that day,the first[day] of the week,and when the doorswere shutwherethe discipleswere, for fearof the Jews,Jesuscameand stoodin their midstand saidto them, "Peace[be] with you."
AftereightdaysHis discipleswere againinside,and Thomaswith them. Jesuscame,the doorshaving been shut,and stoodin their midstand said,"Peace[be] with you."
When he had seizedhim, he puthim in prison,deliveringhim to foursquadsof soldiersto guardhim, intendingafterthe Passoverto bringhim out before the people.
and suddenlythere camea greatearthquake,sothat the foundationsof the prison housewere shaken;and immediatelyallthe doorswere openedand everyone'schainswere unfastened.
But duringthe nightan angelof the Lordopenedthe gatesof the prison,and takingthem out he said,
"And to the angelof the churchin Philadelphiawrite:He who is holy,who is true,who hasthe keyof David,who opensand noonewill shut,and who shutsand no oneopens,saysthis:
