Now it was toldKingDavid,saying,"The LORDhas blessedthe houseof Obed-edomand allthat belongs to him, on accountof the arkof God."Davidwentand broughtup the arkof Godfrom the houseof Obed-edominto the cityof Davidwith gladness.
Nevertheless, Davidcapturedthe strongholdof Zion,that is the cityof David.
ThenSolomonassembledthe eldersof Israeland allthe headsof the tribes,the leadersof the fathers'[households] of the sonsof Israel,to KingSolomonin Jerusalem,to bringup the arkof the covenantof the LORDfrom the cityof David,whichis Zion.
Then allthe eldersof Israelcame,and the prieststookup the ark.
They broughtup the arkof the LORDand the tentof meetingand allthe holyutensils,whichwere in the tent,and the priestsand the Levitesbroughtthem up.
The sonsof the Levitescarriedthe arkof Godon their shoulderswith the polesthereon,as Moseshad commandedaccording to the wordof the LORD.
So [it was] David,with the eldersof Israeland the captainsover thousands,who wentto bringup the arkof the covenantof the LORDfrom the houseof Obed-edomwith joy.
[The covenant] whichHe madewith Abraham,And His oathto Isaac.
Obed-edomhad sons:Shemaiahthe firstborn,Jehozabadthe second,Joahthe third,Sacarthe fourth,Nethanelthe fifth,
Ammielthe sixth,Issacharthe seventh[and] Peullethaithe eighth;Godhad indeedblessedhim.
ThenSolomonassembledto Jerusalemthe eldersof Israeland allthe headsof the tribes,the leadersof the fathers'[households] of the sonsof Israel,to bringup the arkof the covenantof the LORDout of the cityof David,whichis Zion.
"And whoeverin the nameof a disciplegivesto oneof theselittle onesevena cupof coldwater to drink,trulyI sayto you, he shall not losehis reward."
