CaintoldAbelhis brother.And it cameabout when they were in the field,that Cainroseup againstAbelhis brotherand killedhim.
However, he refusedto turnaside;therefore Abnerstruckhim in the bellywith the buttendof the spear,so that the spearcameout at his back.And he fellthereand diedon the spot.And it cameabout that allwho cameto the placewhereAsahelhad fallenand died,stoodstill.
Joabsaidto Amasa,"Is it wellwith you, my brother?"And JoabtookAmasaby the beardwith his righthandto kisshim.
So when Abnerreturnedto Hebron,Joabtookhim asideinto the middleof the gateto speakwith him privately,and therehe struckhim in the bellyso that he diedon account of the bloodof Asahelhis brother.

Then Abishaisaidto David,"TodayGodhas deliveredyour enemyinto your hand;nowtherefore, pleaselet me strikehim with the spearto the groundwith onestroke,and I will not strike him the secondtime."
