and sent[word] throughNathanthe prophet,and he namedhim Jedidiahfor the LORD'Ssake.
Then Davidcomfortedhis wifeBathsheba,and wentin to her and laywith her; and she gavebirthto a son,and he namedhim Solomon.Now the LORDlovedhim
Now Joabfoughtagainst Rabbahof the sonsof Ammonand capturedthe royalcity.
But in the samenightthe wordof the LORDcameto Nathan,saying,
Then Nathanspoketo Bathshebathe motherof Solomon,saying,"Have you not heardthat Adonijahthe sonof Haggithhas becomeking,and Davidour lorddoes not know[it]?
They toldthe king,saying,"Hereis Nathanthe prophet."And when he camein beforethe king,he prostratedhimself before the kingwith his faceto the ground.
But Zadokthe priest,Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiada,Nathanthe prophet,Shimei,Rei,and the mightymenwhobelonged to David,were not with Adonijah.
and Azariahthe sonof Nathan[was] overthe deputies;and Zabudthe sonof Nathan,a priest,[was] the king'sfriend;
Behold,a sonwill be bornto you, whoshall be a manof rest;and I will givehim restfrom allhis enemieson everyside;for his nameshall be Solomon,and I will givepeaceand quietto Israelin his days.
Thesewere bornto him in Jerusalem:Shimea,Shobab,Nathanand Solomon,four,by Bath-shuathe daughterof Ammiel;
"Did not Solomonkingof Israelsinregardingthesethings?Yet among the manynationsthere was nokinglikehim, and he was lovedby his God,and Godmadehim kingoverallIsrael;neverthelessthe foreignwomencaused evenhim to sin.
While he was stillspeaking,a brightcloudovershadowedthem, and behold,a voiceout of the cloudsaid,"Thisis My belovedSon,with whomI am well-pleased;listento Him!"
and behold,a voiceout of the heavenssaid,"Thisis My belovedSon,in whomI am well-pleased."
Of Benjaminhe said,"May the belovedof the LORDdwellin securityby Him, Who shieldshim allthe day,And he dwellsbetweenHis shoulders."
