So it cameabout whenever the [evil] spiritfrom Godcameto Saul,Davidwould takethe harpand play[it] with his hand;and Saulwould be refreshedand be well,and the evilspiritwould departfrom him.
the wordof the LORDcameexpresslyto Ezekielthe priest,sonof Buzi,in the landof the Chaldeansby the riverChebar;and therethe handof the LORDcameupon him.)
"Afterwardyou will cometo the hillof Godwherethe Philistinegarrisonis; and it shall be as soon as you have comethereto the city,that you will meeta groupof prophetscomingdownfrom the highplacewith harp,tambourine,flute,and a lyrebeforethem, and they will be prophesying.
Then the handof the LORDwas on Elijah,and he girdedup his loinsand outranAhabto Jezreel.
And the handof the Lordwas with them, and a largenumberwho believedturnedto the Lord.
It cameabout in the sixthyear,on the fifth[day] of the sixthmonth,as I was sittingin my housewith the eldersof Judahsittingbeforeme, that the handof the LordGODfellon me there.
The handof the LORDwas on me there,and He saidto me, "Getup, goout to the plain,and thereI will speakto you."
So the Spiritliftedme up and tookme away; and I wentembitteredin the rageof my spirit,and the handof the LORDwas strongon me.
Now it cameabout on the nextdaythat an evilspiritfrom Godcamemightilyupon Saul,and he ravedin the midstof the house,while Davidwas playing[the harp] with his hand,as usual;and a spear[was] in Saul'shand.
"Let our lordnowcommandyour servantswho are beforeyou. Let them seeka manwho is a skillfulplayeron the harp;and it shall comeabout when the evilspiritfrom Godis on you, that he shall play[the harp] with his hand,and you will be well."
He said,"Thussaysthe LORD,'Makethisvalleyfullof trenches.'
I will inclinemy earto a proverb;I will expressmy riddleon the harp.
