So Hezekiahanswered,"It is easyfor the shadowto declinetensteps;no,but let the shadowturnbackwardtensteps."

He says,"It is toosmalla thingthat You should be My ServantTo raiseup the tribesof Jacoband to restorethe preservedones of Israel;I will also makeYou a lightof the nationsSo that My salvationmay reachto the endof the earth."
Thisis but a slightthingin the sightof the LORD;He will also givethe Moabitesinto your hand.
He said,"You have askeda hardthing.[Nevertheless], ifyou seeme when I am takenfrom you, it shall be sofor you; but ifnot, it shall not be [so]."
Isaiahsaid,"Thisshall be the signto you from the LORD,that the LORDwill dothe thingthat He has spoken:shall the shadowgoforward tenstepsorgobacktensteps?"
Isaiahthe prophetcriedto the LORD,and He broughtthe shadowon the stairwaybacktenstepsby whichit had gonedownon the stairwayof Ahaz.
ThenJoshuaspoketo the LORDin the daywhen the LORDdeliveredup the Amoritesbeforethe sonsof Israel,and he saidin the sightof Israel,"O sun,standstillat Gibeon,And O moonin the valleyof Aijalon."
So the sunstoodstill,and the moonstopped,Untilthe nationavengedthemselves of their enemies.Is it not writtenin the bookof Jashar?And the sunstoppedin the middleof the skyand did not hastento go[down] for about a wholeday.
