Then Elijahsaidto him, "Pleasestayhere,for the LORDhas sentme to the Jordan."And he said,"As the LORDlives,and as you yourselflive,I will not leaveyou." So the twoof them wenton.
Abrahamtookthe woodof the burntofferingand laidit on Isaachis son,and he tookin his handthe fireand the knife.So the twoof them walkedon together.
Abrahamsaid,"Godwill providefor Himself the lambfor the burntoffering,my son."So the twoof them walkedon together.
Elijahsaidto Elisha,"Stayhereplease,for the LORDhas sentme as faras Bethel."But Elishasaid,"As the LORDlivesand as you yourselflive,I will not leaveyou." So they wentdownto Bethel.
The motherof the ladsaid,"As the LORDlivesand as you yourselflive,I will not leaveyou." And he aroseand followedher.
and when those who carriedthe arkcameinto the Jordan,and the feetof the priestscarryingthe arkwere dippedin the edgeof the water(for the Jordanoverflowsallits banksallthe daysof harvest),
"You shall, moreover, commandthe priestswho are carryingthe arkof the covenant,saying,'When you cometo the edgeof the watersof the Jordan,you shall stand[still] in the Jordan.'"
But Ruthsaid,"Do not urgeme to leaveyou [or] turnbackfrom followingyou; for whereyou go,I will go,and whereyou lodge,I will lodge.Your people[shall be] my people,and your God,my God.
She said,"Oh,my lord!As your soullives,my lord,I am the womanwho stoodherebesideyou, prayingto the LORD.
Yet Davidvowedagain,saying,"Your fatherknowswellthat I have foundfavorin your sight,and he has said,'Do not let Jonathanknowthis,orhe will be grieved.'But trulyas the LORDlivesand as your soullives,there is hardly a stepbetweenme and death."
