He wentout to the springof waterand threwsaltin it and said,"Thussaysthe LORD,I have purifiedthesewaters;there shall not be from theredeathor unfruitfulnessanylonger.'"
He said,"Bringme a newjar,and putsaltin it." So they brought[it] to him.
So the watershave been purifiedto thisday,according to the wordof Elishawhichhe spoke.
But he said,"Now bringmeal."He threwit into the potand said,"Pour[it] out for the peoplethat they may eat."Then there was noharmin the pot.
Then the manof Godsaid,"Wheredid it fall?"And when he showedhim the place,he cutoffa stickand threw[it] in there,and made the ironfloat.
Everygrain offeringof yours, moreover, you shall seasonwith salt,so that the saltof the covenantof your Godshall not be lackingfrom your grain offering;with allyour offeringsyou shall offersalt.
"Blessedare you when[people] insultyou and persecuteyou, and falselysayall kindsof evilagainstyou becauseof Me.
"Saltis good;but ifthe saltbecomesunsalty,with whatwill you make it salty[again]? Havesaltin yourselves,and be at peacewith one another."
When He had saidthis,He spaton the ground,and madeclayof the spittle,and appliedthe clayto his eyes,
and He will wipe awayeverytearfrom their eyes;and there will nolongerbe [any] death;there will nolongerbe [any] mourning,orcrying,orpain;the first thingshave passed away."
