The LORDsaidto Jehu,"Becauseyou have donewellin executingwhatis rightin My eyes,[and] have doneto the houseof Ahabaccording to allthat [was] in My heart,your sonsof the fourthgeneration shall siton the throneof Israel."
So Joashsleptwith his fathers,and Jeroboamsaton his throne;and Joashwas buriedin Samariawith the kingsof Israel.
In the secondyearof Joashsonof Joahazkingof Israel,Amaziahthe sonof Joashkingof Judahbecameking.
Now the restof the actsof Jehoashwhichhe did,and his mightand howhe foughtwith Amaziahkingof Judah,are they not writtenin the Bookof the Chroniclesof the Kingsof Israel?
So Jehoashsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin Samariawith the kingsof Israel;and Jeroboamhis sonbecamekingin his place.
He builtElathand restoredit to Judahafterthe kingsleptwith his fathers.
He didevilin the sightof the LORD;he did not departfrom allthe sinsof Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat,whichhe made Israelsin.
The LORDdid not saythat He would blotout the nameof Israelfrom underheaven,but He savedthem by the handof Jeroboamthe sonof Joash.
In the twenty-seventhyearof Jeroboamkingof Israel,Azariahsonof Amaziahkingof Judahbecameking.
Allof these were enrolledin the genealogiesin the daysof Jothamkingof Judahand in the daysof Jeroboamkingof Israel.
