The LORDsaidto Jehu,"Becauseyou have donewellin executingwhatis rightin My eyes,[and] have doneto the houseof Ahabaccording to allthat [was] in My heart,your sonsof the fourthgeneration shall siton the throneof Israel."
Jehoashwas sevenyearsoldwhen he becameking.
Now in the seventhyearJehoiadasentand broughtthe captainsof hundredsof the Caritesand of the guard,and broughtthem to him in the houseof the LORD.Then he madea covenantwith them and putthem underoathin the houseof the LORD,and showedthem the king'sson.
In the seventhyearof Jehu,Jehoashbecameking,and he reignedfortyyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'snamewas Zibiahof Beersheba.
For Jozacarthe sonof Shimeathand Jehozabadthe sonof Shomer,his servants,struck[him] and he died;and they buriedhim with his fathersin the cityof David,and Amaziahhis sonbecamekingin his place.
In the thirty-seventhyearof Joashkingof Judah,Jehoashthe sonof JehoahazbecamekingoverIsraelin Samaria,[and reigned] sixteenyears.
He didevilin the sightof the LORD,and followedthe sinsof Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat,with whichhe made Israelsin;he did not turnfrom them.
Thisis the wordof the LORDwhichHe spoketo Jehu,saying,"Your sonsto the fourthgeneration shall siton the throneof Israel."And soit was.
Ahaziah[was] twenty-twoyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedoneyearin Jerusalem.And his mother'sname[was] Athaliahthe granddaughterof Omrikingof Israel.
