He commandedthem, saying,"Thisis the thingthat you shall do:one thirdof you, who comein on the sabbathand keepwatchover the king'shouse
the foodof his table,the seatingof his servants,the attendanceof his waitersand their attire,his cupbearers,and his stairwayby whichhe wentup to the houseof the LORD,there was nomorespiritin her.
He tookthe captainsof hundredsand the Caritesand the guardsand allthe peopleof the land;and they broughtthe kingdownfrom the houseof the LORD,and cameby the wayof the gateof the guardsto the king'shouse.And he saton the throneof the kings.
(one thirdalso [shall be] at the gateSur,and one thirdat the gatebehindthe guards),shall keepwatchover the housefor defense.
The coveredwayfor the sabbathwhichthey had builtin the house,and the outerentryof the king,he removedfrom the houseof the LORDbecauseof the kingof Assyria.
Thus they are to keepchargeof the tentof meeting,and chargeof the holyplace, and chargeof the sonsof Aarontheir relatives,for the serviceof the houseof the LORD.
Their relativesin their villages[were] to comein every sevendaysfrom timeto time[to be] with them;
When the officialsof Judahheardthesethings,they cameup from the king'shouseto the houseof the LORDand satin the entranceof the NewGateof the LORD'S[house].
