The guardsstoodeachwith his weaponsin his hand,from the rightsideof the houseto the leftsideof the house,by the altarand by the house,aroundthe king.
The priestgaveto the captainsof hundredsthe spearsand shieldsthat [had been] KingDavid's,which[were] in the houseof the LORD.
Then he broughtthe king'ssonout and putthe crownon him and [gave him] the testimony;and they madehim kingand anointedhim, and they clappedtheir handsand said,"[Long] livethe king!"
"Then you shall surroundthe king,eachwith his weaponsin his hand;and whoever comeswithinthe ranksshall be putto death.And be with the kingwhen he goesout and when he comesin."
Then he stoodbeforethe altarof the LORDin the presenceof allthe assemblyof Israeland spreadout his hands.
"You shall setthe altarof burntofferingin frontof the doorwayof the tabernacleof the tentof meeting.
Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
Let the priests,the LORD'Sministers,Weepbetweenthe porchand the altar,And let them say,"SpareYour people,O LORD,And do not makeYour inheritancea reproach,A bywordamong the nations.Whyshould they among the peoplessay,Whereis their God?'"
sothat upon you may fall[the guilt of] allthe righteousbloodshedon earth,from the bloodof righteousAbelto the bloodof Zechariah,the sonof Berechiah,whomyou murderedbetweenthe templeand the altar.
from the bloodof Abelto the bloodof Zechariah,who was killedbetweenthe altarand the house[of God]; yes,I tellyou, it shall be chargedagainstthisgeneration.'
