The LORDsaidto Jehu,"Becauseyou have donewellin executingwhatis rightin My eyes,[and] have doneto the houseof Ahabaccording to allthat [was] in My heart,your sonsof the fourthgeneration shall siton the throneof Israel."
He saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,'Becauseyou have letgoout of [your] handthe manwhom I had devotedto destruction,therefore your lifeshall gofor his life,and your peoplefor his people.'"
and I will makeyour houselike the houseof Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat,and like the houseof Baashathe sonof Ahijah,becauseof the provocationwith whichyou have provoked[Me] to anger,and [because] you have made Israelsin.
"Do you seehowAhabhas humbledhimself beforeMe? Becausehe has humbledhimself beforeMe, I will not bringthe evilin his days,[but] I will bringthe evilupon his housein his son'sdays."
And Jehusleptwith his fathers,and they buriedhim in Samaria.And Jehoahazhis sonbecamekingin his place.
In the twenty-thirdyearof Joashthe sonof Ahaziah,kingof Judah,Jehoahazthe sonof JehubecamekingoverIsraelat Samaria,[and he reigned] seventeenyears.
In the thirty-seventhyearof Joashkingof Judah,Jehoashthe sonof JehoahazbecamekingoverIsraelin Samaria,[and reigned] sixteenyears.
In the fifteenthyearof Amaziahthe sonof Joashkingof Judah,Jeroboamthe sonof Joashkingof Israelbecamekingin Samaria,[and reigned] forty-oneyears.
And Jeroboamsleptwith his fathers,even with the kingsof Israel,and Zechariahhis sonbecamekingin his place.
And the LORDsaidto him, "Namehim Jezreel;for yeta littlewhile,and I will punishthe houseof Jehufor the bloodshedof Jezreel,and I will putan endto the kingdomof the houseof Israel.
I will also bringupon you a swordwhich will executevengeancefor the covenant;and when you gathertogether into your cities,I will sendpestilenceamongyou, so that you shall be deliveredinto enemyhands.
