"Nowtherefore, O LORD,the Godof Israel,keepwith Your servantDavid,my father,that whichYou have promisedhim, saying,You shall not lacka manto siton the throneof Israel,ifonlyyour sonstakeheedto their way,to walkin My lawas you have walkedbeforeMe.'
sothat the LORDmay carryout His promisewhichHe spokeconcerningme, saying,Ifyour sonsare carefulof their way,to walkbeforeMe in truthwith alltheir heartand with alltheir soul,you shall not lacka manon the throneof Israel.'
"[Concerning] thishousewhichyou are building,ifyou will walkin My statutesand executeMy ordinancesand keepallMy commandmentsby walkingin them, then I will carryout My wordwith you whichI spoketo Davidyour father.
"Do you not knowthat the LORDGodof Israelgavethe ruleoverIsraelforeverto Davidand his sonsby a covenantof salt?
Yet the LORDwas not willingto destroythe houseof Davidbecauseof the covenantwhichHe had madewith David,and sinceHe had promisedto givea lampto him and his sonsforever.
Then allthe assemblymadea covenantwith the kingin the houseof God.And Jehoiada saidto them, "Behold,the king'ssonshall reign,as the LORDhas spokenconcerningthe sonsof David.
"Nowtherefore, O LORD,the Godof Israel,let Your wordbe confirmedwhichYou have spokento Your servantDavid.
"As for you, ifyou walkbeforeMe as your fatherDavidwalked,even to doaccording to allthat I have commandedyou, and will keepMy statutesand My ordinances,
then I will establishyour royalthroneas I covenantedwith your fatherDavid,saying,You shall not lacka man[to be] rulerin Israel.'
Aleph. How blessedare those whose wayis blameless,Who walkin the lawof the LORD.
Howcan a youngmankeephis waypure?By keeping[it] according to Your word.
The LORDhas swornto DavidA truthfrom which He will not turnback:"Of the fruitof your bodyI will setupon your throne.
"Ifyour sonswill keepMy covenantAnd My testimonywhichI will teachthem, Their sonsalsoshall situpon your throneforever."
For Your lovingkindnessis beforemy eyes,And I have walkedin Your truth.
