"Since I know,O my God,that You trythe heartand delightin uprightness,I, in the integrityof my heart,have willinglyofferedallthese[things]; so nowwith joyI have seenYour people,who are presenthere,make[their] offeringswillinglyto You.
Phinehasthe sonof Eleazarwas ruleroverthem previously,[and] the LORDwas with him.
For Hezekiahkingof Judahhad contributedto the assembly1000bullsand 7,000sheep,and the princeshad contributedto the assembly1000bullsand 10,000sheep;and a largenumberof priestsconsecratedthemselves.
Jehiel,Azaziah,Nahath,Asahel,Jerimoth,Jozabad,Eliel,Ismachiah,Mahathand Benaiah[were] overseersunderthe authorityof Conaniahand Shimeihis brotherby the appointmentof KingHezekiah,and Azariah[was] the [chief] officerof the houseof God.
They cameto Hilkiahthe highpriestand deliveredthe moneythat was broughtinto the houseof God,whichthe Levites,the doorkeepers,had collectedfrom Manassehand Ephraim,and from allthe remnantof Israel,and from allJudahand Benjaminand the inhabitantsof Jerusalem.
Josiahcontributedto the laypeople,to allwho were present,flocksof lambsand younggoats,allfor the Passoverofferings,numbering30000plus 3,000bulls;thesewere from the king'spossessions.
Allthose aboutthem encouragedthem with articlesof silver,with gold,with goods,with cattleand with valuables,asidefrom allthat was givenas a freewilloffering.
with allthe silverand goldwhichyou findin the wholeprovinceof Babylon,alongwith the freewillofferingof the peopleand of the priests,who offeredwillinglyfor the houseof their Godwhichis in Jerusalem;
The daughterof Tyre[will come] with a gift;The richamong the peoplewill seekyour favor.
Then the leadersof Israel,the headsof their fathers'households,madean offering(they were the leadersof the tribes;they were the ones who were overthe numberedmen).
As they were speakingto the people,the priestsand the captainof the temple[guard] and the Sadduceescameup to them,
Thenthe captainwent alongwith the officersand [proceeded] to bringthem [back] withoutviolence(for they were afraidof the people,that they might be stoned).
For ifthe readinessis present,it is acceptableaccordingto what [a person] has,not accordingto what he does not have.
Each one[must do] justas he has purposedin his heart,not grudginglyorundercompulsion,for Godlovesa cheerfulgiver.
