Now afterthishe builtthe outerwallof the cityof Davidon the westsideof Gihon,in the valley,even to the entranceof the FishGate;and he encircledthe Ophel[with it] and madeit veryhigh.Then he putarmycommandersin allthe fortifiedcitiesof Judah.
The kingsaidto them, "Takewith you the servantsof your lord,and have my sonSolomonrideon my own mule,and bringhim downto Gihon.
"Zadokthe priestand Nathanthe prophethave anointedhim kingin Gihon,and they have comeup from thererejoicing,so that the cityis in an uproar.Thisis the noisewhichyou have heard.
Theseare they who servedthe king,apartfrom those whomthe kingputin the fortifiedcitiesthrough allJudah.
He builtthe uppergateof the houseof the LORD,and he builtextensivelythe wallof Ophel.
It was Hezekiahwho stoppedthe upperoutletof the watersof Gihonand directedthem to the westsideof the cityof David.And Hezekiahprosperedin allthat he did.
And he tookcourageand rebuiltallthe wallthat had been brokendownand erectedtowerson it, and [built] anotheroutsidewalland strengthenedthe Millo[in] the cityof David,and madeweaponsand shieldsin greatnumber.
and abovethe Gateof Ephraim,by the OldGate,by the FishGate,the Towerof Hananeland the Towerof the Hundred,as faras the SheepGate;and they stoppedat the Gateof the Guard.
Now the sonsof Hassenaahbuiltthe FishGate;they laidits beamsand hungits doorswith its boltsand bars.
Becausethe palacehas been abandoned,the populatedcityforsaken.Hilland watch-towerhave becomecavesforever,A delightfor wilddonkeys,a pasturefor flocks;
"On that day,"declaresthe LORD,"There will be the soundof a cryfrom the FishGate,A wailfrom the SecondQuarter, And a loudcrashfrom the hills.
