When they had departedfrom him (for they lefthim verysick),his own servantsconspiredagainsthim because of the bloodof the sonof Jehoiadathe priest,and murderedhim on his bed.So he died,and they buriedhim in the cityof David,but they did not buryhim in the tombsof the kings.
Then Baashathe sonof Ahijahof the houseof Issacharconspiredagainsthim, and Baashastruckhim downat Gibbethon,whichbelonged to the Philistines,while Nadaband allIsraelwere layingsiegeto Gibbethon.
Then the LORDstirredup againstJehoramthe spiritof the Philistinesand the Arabswhoborderedthe Ethiopians;
So he returnedto be healedin Jezreelof the woundswhichthey had inflictedon him at Ramah,when he foughtagainstHazaelkingof Aram.And Ahaziah,the sonof Jehoramkingof Judah,wentdownto seeJehoramthe sonof Ahabin Jezreel,becausehe was sick.
He also soughtAhaziah,and they caughthim while he was hidingin Samaria;they broughthim to Jehu,puthim to deathand buriedhim. For they said,"He is the sonof Jehoshaphat,whosoughtthe LORDwith allhis heart."So therewas nooneof the houseof Ahaziahto retainthe powerof the kingdom.
They buriedhim in the cityof Davidamongthe kings,becausehe had donewellin Israeland to Godand His house.
Now theseare those who conspiredagainsthim: Zabadthe sonof Shimeaththe Ammonitess,and Jehozabadthe sonof Shimriththe Moabitess.
From the timethat Amaziahturnedawayfrom followingthe LORDthey conspiredagainsthim in Jerusalem,and he fledto Lachish;but they sentafterhim to Lachishand killedhim there.
Now it cameabout as soonas the kingdomwas firmlyin his grasp,that he killedhis servantswho had slainhis fatherthe king.
So Ahazsleptwith his fathers,and they buriedhim in the city,in Jerusalem,for they did not bringhim into the tombsof the kingsof Israel;and Hezekiahhis sonreignedin his place.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
for they pouredout the bloodof saintsand prophets,and You have giventhem bloodto drink.They deserveit."
