Then the peoplerejoicedbecausethey had offeredso willingly,for they madetheir offeringto the LORDwith a wholeheart,and KingDavidalsorejoicedgreatly.
It cameabout wheneverthe chestwas broughtin to the king'sofficerby the Levites,and when they sawthat there was muchmoney,then the king'sscribeand the chiefpriest'sofficerwould come,emptythe chest,takeit, and returnit to its place.Thusthey diddailyand collectedmuchmoney.
They madea proclamationin Judahand Jerusalemto bringto the LORDthe levy[fixed by] Mosesthe servantof Godon Israelin the wilderness.
You meethim who rejoicesin doingrighteousness,Who remembersYou in Your ways.Behold,You were angry,for we sinned,[We continued] in them a longtime;And shall we be saved?
that in a greatordealof afflictiontheir abundanceof joyand their deeppovertyoverflowedin the wealthof their liberality.
Each one[must do] justas he has purposedin his heart,not grudginglyorundercompulsion,for Godlovesa cheerfulgiver.
