But nowthat Timothyhas cometo us from you, and has brought us good newsof your faithand love,and that you alwaysthinkkindlyof us, longingto seeus justas we alsolong to see you,
[Like] coldwaterto a wearysoul,So is goodnewsfrom a distantland.
Howlovelyon the mountainsAre the feetof him who bringsgood news,Who announcespeaceAnd bringsgood newsof happiness,Who announcessalvation,[And] saysto Zion,"Your Godreigns!"
Paul camealsoto Derbeand to Lystra.And a disciplewas there,namedTimothy,the sonof a Jewishwomanwho was a believer,but his fatherwas a Greek,
Afterthese thingshe leftAthensand wentto Corinth.
But whenSilasand Timothycame downfrom Macedonia,Paul[began] devoting himself completelyto the word,solemnly testifyingto the Jewsthat Jesuswas the Christ.
NowI praiseyou becauseyou rememberme in everythingand hold firmlyto the traditions,justas I deliveredthem to you.
But nowfaith,hope,love,abidethesethree;but the greatestof theseis love.
For in ChristJesusneithercircumcisionnoruncircumcisionmeansanything,but faithworkingthroughlove.
For Godis my witness,howI longfor you allwith the affectionof ChristJesus.
since we heardof your faithin ChristJesusand the lovewhichyou havefor allthe saints;
I, Paul,write thisgreetingwith my ownhand.Remembermy imprisonment.Gracebe with you.
constantlybearing in mindyour workof faithand laborof loveand steadfastnessof hopein our LordJesusChristin the presenceof our Godand Father,
But we, brethren,having been taken awayfrom you for a shortwhile--in person,not in spirit--were all the moreeagerwith greatdesireto seeyour face.
For you recall,brethren,our laborand hardship,[how] workingnightand daysoas not to be a burdento anyof you, we proclaimedto you the gospelof God.
for thisreason,brethren,in allour distressand afflictionwe were comfortedaboutyou throughyour faith;
We oughtalwaysto give thanksto Godfor you, brethren,as is [only] fitting,becauseyour faithis greatly enlarged,and the loveof eachoneof you towardone anothergrows [ever] greater;
But the goalof our instructionis lovefrom a pureheartand a goodconscienceand a sincerefaith.
I thankGod,whomI servewith a clearconsciencethe waymy forefathersdid, as I constantlyrememberyou in my prayersnightand day,
because I hearof your loveand of the faithwhichyou havetowardthe LordJesusand towardallthe saints;
Rememberthe prisoners,as thoughin prisonwith them, [and] thosewho are ill-treated,sinceyou yourselvesalsoare in the body.
Rememberthosewho ledyou, whospokethe wordof Godto you; and consideringthe resultof their conduct,imitatetheir faith.
Thisis His commandment,that we believein the nameof His SonJesusChrist,and loveone another,justas He commandedus.
