From the daythat the arkremainedat Kiriath-jearim,the timewas long,for it was twentyyears;and allthe houseof Israellamentedafterthe LORD.

So DavidassembledallIsraeltogether, from the Shihorof Egypteven to the entranceof Hamath,to bringthe arkof Godfrom Kiriath-jearim.
Indeed,there was alsoa manwho prophesiedin the nameof the LORD,Uriahthe sonof Shemaiahfrom Kiriath-jearim;and he prophesiedagainstthiscityand againstthislandwordssimilar to allthose of Jeremiah.
Onlyacknowledgeyour iniquity,That you have transgressedagainst the LORDyour GodAnd have scatteredyour favorsto the strangersundereverygreentree,And you have not obeyedMy voice,'declaresthe LORD.
"With weepingthey will come,And by supplicationI will leadthem; I will make them walkby streamsof waters,On a straightpathin which they will not stumble;For I ama fatherto Israel,And Ephraimis My firstborn."
"Blessedare thosewho mourn,for they shall be comforted.
Then the sonsof Israelsetout and cameto their citieson the thirdday.Now their cities[were] Gibeonand Chephirahand Beerothand Kiriath-jearim.
When the angelof the LORDspokethesewordsto allthe sonsof Israel,the peopleliftedup their voicesand wept.
And the menof Kiriath-jearimcameand tookthe arkof the LORDand broughtit into the houseof Abinadabon the hill,and consecratedEleazarhis sonto keepthe arkof the LORD.
Then Samuelspoketo allthe houseof Israel,saying,"Ifyou returnto the LORDwith allyour heart,removethe foreigngodsand the Ashtarothfrom amongyou and directyour heartsto the LORDand serveHim alone;and He will deliveryou from the handof the Philistines."
